Planner's Dining Club: Spring Equinox at The Foundry
We recently had the exciting opportunity to share our day with Banga Studios, showing them the behind-the-scenes look at who we are, what we do, and the involved day-of prep process of our most recent Planner’s Dining Club. We started the day in our home office, taking care of emails and wrapping up finishing touches with our personal assistant and cheerleader, Sadie. From there, we took to the streets to get our day started.
I love what I do and only feel natural giving my all to my couples, but wedding planning and my work takes a toll on the body so it’s important to make time for my own self-care. I find acupuncture and massage is key to balancing it all and create time once a month to fit it in. Before or after an event is the perfect opportunity, so I headed to an acupuncture session on my way. It’s amazing how even a simple hour session can reinvigorate and recharge. After the session, I was eager to see our Planner’s Dinner come to life!
The planning process is all about communication, and that doesn’t end on the day of. Continuing that conversation with each vendor, while giving everyone the flexibility and support they need in the hours before an event is huge. One of the most exciting aspects of my work is seeing it all come together and I get a thrill working with such incredible people.
After hours of final decisions being made, skillful ladder climbing, practicing my stunts, and a whole lot of laughter, we were all ready to enjoy our Spring Equinox Planner’s Dining Club event. Thanks Banga Studios for documenting our day and giving us this unique experience!

Planner's Dining Club
At the end of a bitter cold winter, we were ready for Spring! We needed color, flowers, fresh food and some incredible people to help us celebrate. On the evening of the Spring equinox, we held our latest Planner’s Dining Club at The Foundry. It was one of our most collaborative dinners yet, with true industry professionals who we worked with to delight and inspire. And a huge shout out to The Hons Photo for catching every colorful moment!
When our caterer, Cedar Lakes Estate suggested The Foundry as a location, we knew it would be the perfect spot for this unique affair. Many of the planners have worked with The Foundry before, so we wanted to be sure to highlight many of the spaces in new ways. We worked hard to emphasize the natural character of the space while dreaming big and bringing new ideas to life with bold installations.
In the design we wanted to be daring with color and allow the theme of spring to truly shine. Bourgeon made quite the statement with their floral tornado install. Each floral tornado was painted and filled with flowers before hung from the center of the main dining room. Color continued to be a key factor in the design though the invites, place cards, and gorgeous tapers. On the other hand, the floral aspects of the centerpieces were kept more neutral in palette to highlight the tornado of color above.
This leading design feature and the main event, the dinner, was held in the Foundry’s Green House. We really pushed the boundaries of the shape and size of the space, creating one large X shaped table with a floral install as a focal point. The living plants within the space contributed to the natural, spring vibes. The design inspiration started with the acrylic tables and artistic white chairs from RentQuest. Their artistic yet subtle design allowed the space to speak for itself and the floral tornado installation to shine.
The food and drink was such an essential part of the evening, and we couldn’t have done it without Cedar Lakes Estate. They pulled out all the stops to brighten up the cold day and bring the sense of spring alive with their colorful and delicious food. With farmer’s market favorites and their signature 10’ Foraging Table, Cedar Lakes Estate pulled out all the stops for a quintessential springtime feast.
A custom Garden Martini bar allowed guests to design their own cocktail, using fresh juices and syrups, and gorgeous spring-time floral and herb garnishes. Every drink was unique and equally delicious. What a fabulous way to celebrate the bounty of spring!
Our dinner was so fantastic, we couldn’t just end it there. As a way to fully utilize The Foundry’s incredible spaces, we hosted our first post-dinner dance party. The most amazing choreographed dance by Elan Artists got the party started. We couldn’t get enough of their custom costumes and elaborate dance moves. It was the perfect way to end the evening!
