Playfully Modern at Dobbin St
As the whispers of autumn are upon us, we find ourselves looking to warm palettes and intimate settings for seasonal inspiration. In doing so, we are drawn to Willa and Beattie’s romantic day at Dobbin St. With its artful vibes and colorful subtleties, we continuously find inspiration in the special moments and unforgettable design of their wedding. It was a perfect fall day, a perfect celebration of love, and a memory we cherish.
The couple had a clear view of the mood and style they wanted shown on their special day. So much of the design reflected the unexpected marriage of modern details and playful retro vibes. Every element spoke to the delicate romance of the two, creating a unique and inspired result. From stationery to florals, furnishings to linens, every aspect was determined with palette and tone in mind.
As it often does, the stationery set the tone for the stylish event. The chic invitations added clean lines and warm color to provide a modern look against the stylishly retro font. This aesthetic was carried into the escort card display and menus, which were subtle yet striking. The couple were married in an intimate rooftop ceremony, where whimsical hanging florals adorned the chuppah with their warm hues. The romance of the city views and the brilliance of the setting sun added to the intimate ambiance that was felt by all. Willa’s mono-botanical bouquet was playful in its simplicity and paired beautifully with her intricately designed dress. In contrast, the flowers carried by the wedding party were striking in their deep rust color and unique form.
For the reception, the autumnal palette of yellows, creams, oranges, and reds worked in cohesion with the tones of the space. Bentwood chairs in a soft birch paired with neutral linens. Tapered candles and milk glass goblets, vibrant in their clean white color, added a touch of nostalgia. The talented A.P. Bio team adorned the tabletops with dynamic floral arrangements, unexpected in form and floral variety. Unique florals such as orchids and anthuriums contrasted with the classic rose in stunning displays. The tones were warm, while the execution was vibrant. Patina Rentals adorned the pockets of space within the venue with inviting lounge pieces, creating intimate moments where guests could tuck in amongst each other and enjoy the distinctly romantic ambiance.
We love when our couples dare to be different, and in doing so, are more true to themselves. There’s nothing more satisfying in our work than allowing a couple’s personal style and love to shine, and Willa and Beattie’s beautiful day at Dobbin St did just that. Thank you, Forged in the North, for capturing the artful and inspiring love that Willa and Beattie share!
