A Creative and Organic Troutbeck Wedding

The Venue: Troutbeck

We loved planning and designing this creative and organic wedding at the stunning Troutbeck estate in upstate New York. Nestled in the heart of the Hudson Valley, Troutbeck is a historic property that exudes timeless charm with its lush gardens, winding streams, and classic architecture. The natural beauty of the venue provided the perfect canvas for a celebration that felt both intimate and elevated, weaving in thoughtful design elements that honored the couple’s style and the season. Every detail was infused with intention, creating an unforgettable experience for the couple and their guests.

The Paper

The paper design for this wedding at Troutbeck was a true labor of love, crafted entirely by hand to reflect the natural beauty of the surroundings. Each piece featured delicate, seasonal flowers pressed into the paper, chosen to mirror the couple’s vibrant color palette of orange, purple, yellow, and white. These blooms added not only a burst of color but a deeply personal touch, bringing the couple’s joyful vision to life. Dyed with natural pigments and finished with raw, deckled edges, the stationery carried an organic texture and earthy elegance. Sustainability was at the heart of the process, using eco-friendly methods and materials to ensure every detail honored the environment. The result was a tactile, soulful suite that felt intimate, intentional, and perfectly in tune with the spirit of the day.

The Ceremony

The ceremony chuppah and arrangements were a striking blend of modern design and natural elegance, featuring a sculptural arrangement of twisting branches that created an artful, architectural silhouette. Kept intentionally minimal, it incorporated solely white flowers, allowing the form and structure of the chuppah to take center stage. The interplay between the organic shapes of the branches and the purity of the white blooms gave it a serene, almost ethereal presence—quietly powerful and beautifully refined, perfectly framing the couple as they exchanged their vows.

Cocktail Hour

The couple thoughtfully chose a bold and intentional floral palette of just three colors—vibrant orange, sunny yellow, and deep purple—brought to life in striking, colorblocked arrangements by Doann Ly. These vivid blooms added a modern edge while still feeling grounded in nature. A custom wooden bar, both sculptural and playful in design, added another layer of visual interest, balancing clean lines with organic warmth. Guests mingled in the garden, enjoying beautifully presented passed appetizers and expertly crafted cocktails, taking in the joyful atmosphere before being guided down a winding path to the dinner reception that awaited.

Dinner

Dinner was set beneath a clear tent, allowing guests to feel fully immersed in the natural surroundings, as if dining among the trees. The floral design carried through the couple’s vibrant palette of yellows, oranges, and deep purples, with arrangements composed in tight, modern shapes that added a refined edge to the garden setting. Overhead, clusters of lush green plants were suspended from the ceiling, creating a dramatic, sculptural moment that echoed the architectural elements of the ceremony. The result was a space that felt both intimate and expansive—alive with color, texture, and the beauty of nature.

Other Details

Throughout the celebration, many fabulous design moments were created using a thoughtful mix of sculptural floral arrangements, crisp white pedestals, and soft, glowing rice paper lanterns. These elements worked together to bring depth and dimension to the space, blending modern artistry with organic elegance. The pedestals served as clean, minimalist foundations that let the bold floral colors and shapes take center stage.. To complement the overall aesthetic and provide spaces for guests to relax and connect, we selected chic, modern, and design-forward furniture to create intimate lounge areas just outside the dance floor. These stylish vignettes offered a comfortable yet elevated way for guests to take in the atmosphere, adding another layer of thoughtful design to the evening. The stunning cake was adorned with flowers in oranges purples, yellow and whites. It was the perfect organic and sculptural touch.
